great deal to offer visitors. The city centre itself is compact and
most attractions are within easy walking distance of each other.
Places of interest include the Crawford Gallery and Opera House.
There are an excellent selection of shops and restaurants in Cork,
including the world-famous English Market. The Gunpowder Mill Museum
at Ballincollig is just outside the city centre and is well worth a
visit. Slightly farther afield the Cobh Heritage Centre is located
within 20 minutes of the city. The centre which focuses on the Irish
Famine, Emigration and the Titanic provides a fascinating insight
into Irish life through the centuries. The beautiful town of Kinsale
with its excellent seafood restaurants is also within easy driving
