sands of Killahoey Strand lapped by the blue waters of the Atlantic.
The striking scenery of Horn Head, with its spectacular walks and many
hidden attractions is home to many seabirds which can be spotted off
the cliffs. |

A short drive from Dunfanaghy is the wild
but beautiful Glenveagh National Park. Covering 25,000 acres the park
has stunning mountain scenery, dramatic valleys and cliffs. Within the
park, Glenveagh Castle stands on the shore of Lake Veagh and visitors
can have a guided tour of the castle and stroll through the formal
gardens and wooded trails. The heather clad headland of Horn Head
gives lovely views out to sea and inland towards the mountains. In
Dunfanaghy itself the beach Killahoey Strand offers excellent swimming
and the village boasts a fine selection of craft shops. The village
Workhouse hosts an exhibition set during the times of the Irish
Famine.
