Local
Attractions
|
Well known for its fabulous scenery, the
area around Killarney is one of Ireland's most popular tourist
destinations and top of every visitor's list is the Killarney
National Park. There are three lakes within the park that provide
some of its most dramatic views and ruined castles and abbeys line
the shores. No visit to the area would be complete without a trip to
Ross Castle, Muckross House, Torc Waterfall and the Gap of Dunloe.
The Ring of Kerry starts in Killarney and takes in many pretty Irish
towns and villages along the way including its jewel, the heritage
town of Kenmare. Allow a day to go all the way round and be prepared
for many stops to admire the view. Slightly further afield, are the
equally stunning Ring of Beara and the Dingle Peninsula. In
Killarney town itself take a horse-drawn jaunting car to see the
sights.
