Ventry in County
Kerry is a small village on the Dingle Peninsula just 4 miles from
Dingle itself. Ventry is located at the heart of Ventry Bay, on the
scenic Slea Head drive. Ventry Bay has a great sandy blue flag

water based activities or perhaps try some horse riding on the beach
at Ventry. The Dingle Way Walk takes in Ventry on its route, so why
not try some of the walk and enjoy the beautiful sights of
Ventry along the way.
Ventry has many historical sites nearby such as the ruins of an Iron Age
fort at Dunbeg and across the road are a number of Beehive Huts or
Ringforts from 1000 B.C. Also in Ventry you can visit the Ogham Stones
displaying ancient Celtic writing. Visit also the 6th century

travel on to see the Gallarus Oratory, where you can see six
monastic huts. Rahinnane Castle ruins still remain, having being
built on an ancient ring fort and is just a short distance from Ventry. Something for all the family in Ventry is the
Celtic and
Prehistoric Museum in Kilvicadownig,
Ventry, which has lots of artifacts from the
neolithic and bronze age and lots of other surprises too in this
