Freshford County Kilkenny is a  beautiful, picturesque, Georgian town lies below the Skieveardagh hills just 10 minutes from Kilkenny city. The town has a fantastic green, surrounded by chestnut trees, benches to relax on and enjoy the tranquillity of the area and talk with the friendly local people who are justly proud of their heritage.

On one corner of the green stands a 7th century church. This church has a richly decorated Irish Romanesque porch incorporated into the present church in the 1100's. It is for Protestant worship.

On another corner is the Catholic church. The visible beauty of the town becomes you to stop. It's ease, tranquillity and friendliness of its people leaves a lasting impression.
