O'Carolan Harp & Traditional Music
Festival & Summer School
is held in August in Keadue County
Roscommon each year. The festival was
started back in 1978 in memory of the
famous harper Turlough O'Carolan. The
O'Carolan Harp and Traditional Music
Festival is a festival of ceili, Harp
tutition, Harp recitals and competitions
and set dancing. Keadue, is a small
village at the base of the Arigna
Mountains, where you can enjoy the
traditional houses and stone walls of
the area. |

Roscommon Lamb
Festival will be held at end of April,
it celebrates all aspects of County
Roscommon’s food, farming, heritage and
the family. The majority of our events
are free for the family to enjoy. The
festival showcases the quality of
locally produced food and lamb, with
farm events to be enjoyed at the
festival including the Wool Craft
Village. Butcher demonstrations, Cooking
demonstrations, Sheep Dog Trials and
sports events. |

a short distance from the town centre
plays host to Roscommon Drama Festival
in March, which in 2011 was opened by
John Waters. Live shows included The
Loves of Cass Maguire, Moonshine,
Playboy of the Western World, Dancing at
Lughnasa to mention but a few. |

Boyle Summer Show
held in August in Roscommon is a great
family day out in Boyle Roscommon with
its many activities to be enjoyed by the
family. Boyle Summer Show will have
vintage car display, dog show, novelty
side shows, dancing displays, parades
and music. Boyle located near Lough Key
in Co Roscommon and is just 30 minutes
from Roscommon town.
